You are not broken.
And you do not have to walk through this alone.

Gentle, compassionate support for people navigating akathisia, medication injury, and medication tapering, led by someone who has walked this path herself.
A calm, simple first step. No pressure, no fixing, no overwhelm.

you are living with akathisia and feel frightened, restless, isolated, or overwhelmed
you are tapering medication and need safe, steady, informed support
you feel dismissed or misunderstood by the people around you
you are supporting a loved one and want to better understand what they are going through
you are looking for a calm voice, practical grounding, and someone who truly gets it
You do not need to have it all figured out to take the first step.

If you’re here, you’re probably exhausted. Whether you’re living with akathisia, medication withdrawal, or a nervous system injury after psychiatric medication, you may feel frightened, confused, and overwhelmed.
You may have symptoms that seem impossible to explain, or perhaps you’ve been told it’s “just anxiety” when you know something much deeper is happening. I understand because I’ve lived it.
Over the past several years, I’ve learned not only through my own recovery but also through walking alongside countless others on their healing journeys. I’ve spent years studying the nervous system, trauma, and the many gentle approaches people have found helpful as their bodies slowly heal.
Together, we’ll explore the tools, insights and practices that supported me and many others. Understanding your nervous system. Reducing fear. Learning to work with your body rather than against it.
Exploring trauma, spirituality, self-compassion, pacing, nervous system regulation, and the many small pieces that can come together to create the conditions for healing. Every journey is different, and there is no single answer for everyone.
My hope is to help you better understand what’s happening, discover what may support your own healing, and remind you that recovery is possible, even when it feels impossible.
Sometimes, all it takes is one person who truly understands to help you find hope again.

Nicki Lehmann understands akathisia because she has lived it.
She knows what it feels like to wake every morning wondering how you will survive another day. She knows the terror, the relentless insomnia, the inner restlessness, the fear, the isolation, and the grief that can come after medication injury. She also knows what it is like to feel misunderstood by the very people you hoped would help.
Nicki’s own journey was not straightforward. Like many people living with medication injury, her experience involved abrupt medication changes, forced withdrawals, tapering where possible, setbacks, uncertainty, and years of learning how to support an injured nervous system. There was no quick fix and no single treatment that made her better. Healing came slowly, one small step at a time.
Over the years, she explored many approaches that helped support her recovery. Gentle nervous system regulation, trauma therapy, psychological support, vagal exercises, biomodulation, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, movement, nature, spirituality, mindfulness, breathwork, nutrition, and learning to work with her body instead of constantly fighting against it. Every person’s journey is different, and Nicki does not believe there is one path that fits everyone.
Today, she offers something she wished she had when she was at her sickest. Someone who truly understands.
As an Akathisia Peer Support and Recovery Mentor, Nicki provides a compassionate space where people can feel heard without judgment. She does not give medical advice, diagnose conditions, or tell people what decisions they should make about medications. Instead, she walks beside people as they navigate one of the most frightening experiences imaginable, helping them understand the injury, reduce fear, reconnect with hope, and remember that healing is possible.
Nicki’s vision is simple.
To create one of the world’s most trusted communities for people living with akathisia and medication injury. A place built on honesty, compassion, lived experience, and hope. A place where no one has to suffer alone.

If you’ve found your way here, I want you to know something. There was a time I truly believed I would never get my life back.
For years, I lived with severe medication injury, akathisia, relentless insomnia, and a nervous system that felt trapped in survival. I know how lonely, frightening and impossible that can feel. But I also know that healing can happen. Not always quickly. Not always in a straight line.
Sometimes it’s so slow you don’t even realise you’re moving forward until one day you look back and realise you’ve survived what once felt impossible. Please don’t lose hope.
I’ve seen it in my own journey, and I’ve been privileged to witness it in countless others. The nervous system has an incredible capacity to heal, and even in the darkest moments, things can change. If you’re reading this today, keep holding on. Your story isn’t over yet. With love, Nicki 🤍
This is me, not as an expert, but as someone who has walked this path.
I know how hard it can be to keep going when your body feels like it won’t settle, and your mind is searching for answers.
If you’re here, you don’t have to explain yourself. I understand more than you might think.
